Dear Michael,
Philodendron andreanum Devansaye, Rev. Hort. 58: 36 (1886).
is a synomym of Philodendron melanochrysum Linden & André, Ill. Hort.
20: 198 (1873). The last one is the accepted name.
Cheers,
Marcela

Just browsed the Philo list on our site , P. elongatum is listed ..
BUT , my question is ... P andreanum and P. melanochrysum are they one and
the same plant ?
Both names are listed on the list , the picture of
P. melanochrysum looks to be a young P.andreanum...
I know how long it takes to get a mature leaf on this sp. a looooong time
so maybe this is why immature plants could have been given another name .
This plant cannot be the same as the one with the enormous leaves , so lets
call it something else .
Michael Pascall,
