Thanks to all who replied to my inquiry on how best to incorporate 
male/female signs into hypertext for botanical web pages.  I settled on 
the use of images since they will be universally readable.  While HTML 3 
has a number of special symbols available these are not.  Special thanks 
to Clark Riley for providing the gifs.
