Now there can be thousands, cheap, & all plant connoiseurs can have one.  For ordinary folks, maybe the tissue culture people can irradiate things so that those untidy roots don't grow.  That will remind them of the extinct Rain Forest from which it came.    I am glad that Denis didn't sacrifice the mother plant he has cared for so long.  Jolly Hockeysticks!  This is a good ending & everybody can have what they want.

Responding to Denis' recent post:  for tissue culture purposes you do not need to sacrifice the apical meristem since successful propagation can be had by culturing young leaf tissue.
 
I would tend to agree with Denis' comments on ease of culture via soil as this plant is most epiphytic, with wide-ranging aerial roots that would not provide for a tidy subject in the formal parlor!
