            Certainly you should go ahead with this.  I am impressed with how much you have accomplished.  I am impressed with all the cultivar names that you found and recorded.  Where did you get these lists of names?  Donna Atwood and I were working on some lists of cultivars but I think she was trying find out if and where the names were published.  It was a real mess because most were published in rare and obsolete gardening journals. Are we expected to list where these names were published or just publish the names that we are going to officially register?

We have been trying to get this done since 1976, so it will be great to have someone who can actually get this going. You have my vote.

Greetings everyone,

 

We now have a form which Albert put together for on-line submission of cultivar names for registration. I think that it is pretty neat, and we need people to give it a try. The program has been I the works by IAS for some years, with some great work done in the early days: this builds on that. .Check on the page http://www.aroid.org/cultivars/ (copy and paste if the link is not live).

 

We are hoping for approval by the board to continue with this. No response to date, although it has presumably been accepted in the distant past. It would be very encouraging to hear from aroid-l people (not to mention board members) – what is the wish of the society? Go with this, or not?
