[Aroid-l] variabilis

Hi,

I was wondering whether Amorphophallus variabilis can self-pollinate?  A
friend in Florida had one blooming just before Frances hit, and now there
are green berries growing slowly but steadily.  He only had one flower, so
is it possible that it self-pollinated? Or will the berries be empty?
