RE: Children's Garden Shed

Len,

Ergonomics will be key in determining the usability of the shed, especially
when it comes to children. I would suggest that the counter be designed
with for shorter bodies as well as shorter reaches. A custom counter top
that is 18"-24" would be idle, but it may be cost prohibitive. You might
think creating faux back splash/seed stopper that would prevent little items
from rolling or toppling out of reach. As for height, easy-to-assemble
stepping stools the kids could build and decorate would help. To save some
trouble, allow room under the counter directly in front of a planting
station for stool storage. Depeding on the excitement level of the
children, I would suggest that you make clean up as simple on yourself, and
the children, as possible. Eliminate hard to sweep corner and locate debris
catching objects close to, if not under, areas where those object could be
dropped (for instance, soil catch pans under planting tables...)

Great project! Good Luck

Paul Laseter
