1. Watershed Improvements at Watergate
Tuesday, September 13, 5:30 - 7:00pm
Watergate Marina, Crosby Farm Road in St. Paul
Meet at The Ship Store at the bottom of the hill
Located near Crosby Farm Park, Watergate Marina is the uppermost marina on the Mississippi In 2003, the marina undertook a major clean-up and revegetation in partnership with the City of St. Paul and the Highland District Council. Tour the site and learn about how the project is improving habitat and water quality in the river corridor.
2. Buckthorn Removal
Join Gorge Stewards for buckthorn removal in Longfellow and Seward neighborhoods in Minneapolis:
Saturday, September 17, 9am - 12pm.
36th Street and West River Parkway in Minneapolis
Saturday, October 15, 9am - 12pm
Seward Neighborhood, 25th Street and West River Parkway in Minneapolis
We'll pull small buckthorn seedlings by hand, and remove larger shrubs using loppers and weed wrenches. Tools and gloves will be provided. Please wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy shoes.
