Here's a truly unbelievable, but unfortunately all too real and necessary,
action alert sent to me by 2 respected environmental activists. No need for
me to repeat--read Doug's and Carole Rubin's words for yourself and then go
to the online petition site to sign for yourself. That's what convinced me
that this isn't an urban hoax. The online petition site vets these things.
Were it not for the fact that this came to me from respected anti-pesticide
author Carole Rubin, I would not have believed it possible that the US
pesticide industry is proposing to study the effects of pesticides on
children by directly exposing test subjects to pesticides and studying the
effects! The study, to take place in Duval County, Florida, is called the
Children's Environmental Exposure Research Study -- CHEERS for short!
See Carole Rubin's letter below, and please circulate widely!!
Dear Friends and Family,
THIS IS URGENT!!!!
The EPA and the Bush administration is actually planning to test children
and toddlers on the effects of pesticide exposure by PURPOSELY EXPOSING
CHILDREN AND TODDLERS TO PESTICIDES, AND STUDYING THE RESULTS!
They are bribing the impoverished parents of the 'test subjects' with cash
This is not a joke.
It is disgusting, obscene, unconscionable and must be stopped.
Please sign the petition below, and e-mail it to ALL your friends, too. This
