Hi, I received this today, if you would like more information please contact
Sandra Robishaw,
(srobishaw@mindspring.com) directly.

Dear Waste Prevention Coalition Members,

A UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY to show your support for increasing WASTE
PREVENTION programs in NYC!!

There will be a hearing of the newly created Sanitation Committee, chaired
by Michael McMahon of Staten Island, on Thursday, February 7, beginning at
10:00 a.m., in the Committee Room at City Hall, and the public is invited to
testify.

WASTE PREVENTION CAN SAVE THE CITY MILLIONS OF DOLLARS NOW WHEN WE NEED IT
MOST!
All signs indicate that this new committee is eager to be educated on what
NYC can do to lower the astronomical cost of garbage disposal in order to
address NYC's budget crisis. They need to hear and see citizens in support
of these cost-effective programs that can reduce waste, increase revenues
from recycling, and cut down on pollution in NYC.

Please plan to come and make your voice known at this hearing! If you are
pressed for time, written testimony can be short,( a few lines urging the
Council to support Waste Prevention) and submitted at any time during the
hearings.

If you would like more information about this hearing or about the proposals
of the Waste Prevention Coalition, please contact Sandra Robishaw,
Correspondence Sec'y (srobishaw@mindspring.com), or Timothy Logan, Chair
(own@nyceja.org.)
