To all concerned Citizens of NYC:
From NYCEJA, OWN & NYC Waste Prevention Coalition:

If you haven't yet heard, there are a number of bad proposals that came out
in the Mayor's Budget yesterday. The problems not only impact NYC, but NYS
and beyond.

I won't go into detail here, I'll just give you the basics:

Metal/Glass/Plastic Recycling gone for next 1.5 years
Bottle Bill to be replaced by 5cent tax and no recycling
Waste Prevention/Recycling Coordinators gone
DCAS (2) jobs conducting waste prevention for City Agencies gone

There are several letters being drafted now. If you or your organization
would like to read and endorse these letters, please e-mail
srobishaw@mindspring.com.

THERE WILL BE A PRESS CONFERENCE AT 11:00 AM ON Tuesday, Feb. 19TH, City
Hall.

If you would like to be on the Waste Prevention Coalition e-mail list,
please reply to srobishaw@mindspring.com
