COMMUNITY GARDEN COORDINATOR

CHEP, the Child Hunger and Education Program, is a Saskatoon organization
that exists to improve access to good food for all and facilitates many food
security initiatives.  Due to extended staff leave, we are seeking a
coordinator for an eight-month term position to implement the goals of the
community gardening program.

This person will coordinate and support all aspects of the Community
Gardening program including urban agriculture policy development.

 
Experience and Qualifications:

§      Demonstrated community development experience

§      Community gardening, urban agriculture or horticulture knowledge and
experience

§      Understanding and interest in general food security issues

§      Knowledge of program planning and policy development

§      Excellent facilitation, organization and communication skills

§      Familiarity with and connections in the Saskatoon community would be
an assest

§      Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and problem solving
abilities

 

This is a term position for 8 months (with the possibility of an extension)
approximately 3Ž4 time with some seasonal variation.
