Hello Everyone-

We are currently seeking an Executive Director for Wasatch Community
Gardens.  Don Anderson, our current Executive Director, is retiring!!!  He
will be greatly missed!

Executive Director  Position Announcement

The Board of Directors of Wasatch Community Gardens is accepting
applications for the position of Executive Director. We are looking for an
individual who is energetic, highly motivated and committed to the mission
of the organization.

Mission: Wasatch Community Gardens' mission is to help people grow and share
fresh produce; to teach urban youth responsibility, cooperation and
ecological awareness; and to be an active resource for sustainable organic
gardening.

Responsibilities:
7	Primary fundraiser for organization (fulfilling role of a development
director), and guiding Board participation in fundraising
7	Management and oversight of programs, including: experiential education
program serving over 1,200 low-income and at-risk youth annually, community
gardening program serving 100 adults annually, and public education
workshops
7	Management and oversight of all aspects of fundraising, public relations
and event planning
7	Supervision of 2-3 staff members, 1-2 seasonal interns, and Conservation
Corps volunteer crews
7	Development and administration of annual budget
7	Oversight of financial and statistical reporting to relevant government
and granting agencies
7	Oversight of four community garden properties

Qualifications:
7	Strongly prefer a bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years administrative
experience, including nonprofit management, grant writing and preparation
and administration of budgets
7	Self-starter and able to create and direct new programs
7	Ability to manage multiple priorities
7	Strong planning skills and the ability to develop strategies and goals to
support WCGs mission
7	Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
7	Sound decision-making and problem solving skills
7	Ability to lead and motivate staff and volunteers
7	Strong team-building skills
7	Ability to interact professionally with a broad range of people from
diverse backgrounds
7	Good working knowledge of computers and technology
7	Must enjoy the diverse duties associated with management of a small and
growing nonprofit organization

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Starting salary $27,000 - $34,000, health
insurance, paid holidays and vacation.
