RE: Botanical gardens

Steve,
in addition to the other responses... one of my favorites has always been
the Norfolk Botanic Garden in Virginia. has a great arboretum and it's
right on the tidewater, which they use to much advantage. also has a great
library, for those remaining few who like paper. other than that, the
national arboretum in maryland is south of the mason-dixon line, if that
makes it southern.

i've heard rumors of nice gardens in the north and west, also, but i don't
believe them.

1. How many Botanical Gardens are there in the US?
2. How many are in the South?
3. What are some of the Best Gardens to visit in the South?
4. Are there any in Nashville? If so where are they?

I was just curious about these botanical gardens, any information you could
give me would be great

Thanks
  Steve
