A good book (that you may already be aware of) is Growing Home: Stories of Ethnic Gardening by Susan Davis Price, with photography by John Gregor/Cold Snap Photography. This beautiful book includes (31) stories of immigrants and the ways that they continue gardening practices from their country of origin. The book is published by the University of Minnesota Press and is available from at least one public library in our Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.
