FUNDING SOURCES

*The USDA-ERS has an RFP for its Food Assistance and Nutrition Research
Program. Between $2 to 3 million will be disbursed for funding levels
between 
$100,000-400,000 total for up to 3 years. Proposals must fall under one of
four categories: Reaching Underserved Populations, Food Programs as Safety
Net and Client Well-Being, Child Nutrition, and Behavioral Nutrition. A
priority area is "Understanding the Causes and Consequences of Food
Insecurity."   They will also suppport research projects "to develop
expertise by newly-graduated researchers or by senior researchers who are
new to food assistance and nutrition issues."
