CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
to the American Community Gardening Association Board of Directors  
Terms beginning January 1, 2002

The American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) will hold it's
annual election for six positions on its Board of Directors shortly
after the Conference in Salt Lake City, September 7-11, 2001.  ACGA
Board
members serve three-year terms, these begin in January 2002 and end in
February 2005. The ACGA Board is a working board, responsible for
setting organizational priorities, fundraising, directing the financial
course, conferences, publications and public awareness.

ACGA is looking for individuals with specialized skills, such as
fund-raisers, facilitators, computer graphic designers, publications and
public relations.   Individuals interested in board service should
consider how their personal participation, resources and experience can
make significant contributions to ACGA'S progress.

THE NOMINATIONS PROCESS:
*All ACGA members are encouraged to volunteer themselves to be
considered for candidacy or to nominate other network members for
consideration as candidates for the Board.
 
* The ACGA Nominations Committee will review the names suggested and
develop a slate of nine to twelve candidates, considering work
experience, geographic diversity and extent of work experience with
ACGA.

*  If you nominate yourself, you will be contacted by the Nominations
Committee and asked to complete a brief questionnaire to describe your
background and interest in Board service.  If you nominate someone
else,we will contact that person to verify the nominees interest before
sending the questionnaire.

***Nominate yourself or someone else as a candidate for the ACGA 2001
election.****
