landowner's cooperative

Hello,

Anyone know of a "landowner's cooperative" in which member-farmers
employ the coop business model for joint purchase of farmland?  This
would me similar to the housing cooperative in that members could
benefit from reduced rent due to the greater buying power of the group
over the individual, and tenure on their property would be guaranteed. I
don't mean a farm supply buyer's cooperative, just a landowner's coop. 
Some of my USDA collegues in Wisconsin attempted to get a model project
started last year with Hmong farmers, but I believe the effort fizzled
out.  We have renewed interest in a different part of the state and
wanted to find out if this has been done before giving it another try.
