I know there is a certian amount of crossover between this community
gardening listserve and those involved in recycling/composting, so I thought
I'd pass this announcement along:
Sharpen your trowels, composters! The Canadian Compost Council may reward
the biggest pumpkin, but the Pennsylvanians are crowning the best-tasting
tomato. At this year's conference of the Professional Recyclers of
Pennsylvania, the PROP Organics Council is holding a "Compost Grown Tomato
Contest". The judging will take place on Wednesday, July 28th. This year's
conference, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, from July 27-29, features a full line-up of
organics-related sessions. For details and registration forms for both the
contest and the conference, go to the PROP website at www.proprecycles.org
or call (800) 769-PROP (7767).
