The 16th Annual North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Conference and Trade Show will feature the theme “Diversity in the Desert” in Mesa, AZ, on January 15-22, 2001. The full week of activities will include workshops, educational sessions, trade show, and tours of Arizona farms and tourist sites. The conference will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Kevin Leman, widely acclaimed family psychologist. Diversification is key to preserving the family farm. Topics of the sessions and workshops include entertainment farming to create educational memories of farm and ranch visits, creative and effective community markets to serve the vendor and customer, nursery and greenhouse retailing, e-commerce expansion, and food safety issues.
