RE: Urban Gardens in Portland, Oregon???

Portland Parks and Recreation sponsors Portland Community Gardens, which has
garden plots for families (individuals included), as well as a childrens'
garden program, food donation program, and a habitat for wildlife program.
Volunteer garden managers are elected at the 25 sites, and help to build
community and to organize work parties for the community areas within the
sites. Parks and Recreation works with neighborhood associations and local
partnership organizations, covers utilities and heavy maintenance,
registration, trainings, mailings and city-wide outreach programs. For more

Subject: [cg] Urban Gardens in Portland, Oregon???

I'm trying to determine whether there is any organization and/or individual
currently involved in helping cultivate a community garden/s in low-income
neighborhoods. I know we have "community garden" plots available, but can't
locate anything supporting a "community" instead of the individual.

Can you help point in the right direction????

Thanks,

Rachel Freed
