Ah, Adam, I love your focus: "Is this good for community gardeners?"  And
certainly if things are good in the garden, that is a positive ripple to
many places.

The Central federation of leisure gardeners, home-crofters and small animal
breeders of Austria was founded in 1918 and is the union and representative
of the Austrian leisure gardeners.

It takes on lease and administers 896.5 ha of land for the leisure
gardeners. The membership amounts to 35,500 families unified in 364
associations and 5 federations (Lower-Austria, Upper-Austria, Salzbourg,
Steiermark and Vienna).

They have a spiffy looking magazine, Kleingärtner.  Contents list for
