ASSISTANT YOUTH GARDEN MANAGER
Friends of the National Arboretum is seeking a well-organized, creative, energetic educator to work closely with the Youth Garden Manager in administering a gardening and plant science program for 3rd/4th graders in the District of Columbia. Year round program includes hands-on outdoor vegetable gardening and in-classroom plant science activities. The candidate must have a BA/BS in Education, Horticulture, Botany, the Natural Sciences, Environmental Studies or a related field. Ability to communicate well with children, teachers, parents, and National Arboretum staff is imperative. Must be capable of physical work in various weather conditions. Classroom teaching and horticultural/gardening experience ideal. Arts and crafts experience as well as First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
