My husband and I were walking around our yard, looking at 
things that were, or were not, coming up in the gardens. 
We stopped at to look at a few sorry-looking stalks 
coming up out of a patch of ground.

At my husband's questioning look, I gestured to the stalks
and said, "Peonies."

He replied, "I don't think it will help."
