Hello Doret,
Congratulations on becoming a fern-parent.
And also on learning that growing prothalli and sporelings does take heaps of
patience. Prothalli can really take a lot of time to do their thing, if you do not
quite know how to treat them..
More patience and care is required with the transplanting and on-growing of
the young plants as they are taken out of their nursery conditions.
I am facing this prospect now as I have a lot of Adiantum formosum babies
that have taken more than 2 years to get to 1.5 cm high.
Several people, like me, get their fern mail in the daily digest, so it is not
reasonable to expect an instantaneous response. And there are the time
differences around the world to take into account.
