Giant Equisetum in Chile

Hello everyone,

In December I visited northern Chile on a research trip and saw some large Equisetum giganteum (some stems reached 3.5 cm in diameter and 4+ m high).  The plants were growing in river valleys of the Atacama desert.  I have some photos of these plants on my giant Equisetum website:
