I cannot find any fern with this common name in my books.

In the hope that a tree fern that is recorded as growing in Cuba, is the one to
which this epithet applies, I have extracted from my database the records of
Cuban tree-fern species (and a couple of others). Maybe one of these (below)
is it.

However and also, I did a search on the web using Google, and came up with
these two URLs from nurseries selling something they call Cuban Tree fern,
and I note they describe it as dwarf.

http://www.exoticfoliage.com/winter.htm

It is quite probable they have no idea what species it is they have in stock.

Where I live, Blechnum gibbum is sold as Lomaria gibbum and called a tree
fern. So, draw your own conclusions. I would be inclined to ask the original
asker, "Who told you that is the name - can you go back and ask for
confirmation or more details?"
