hey, keep us informed about their growth, andrea.
when we landscaped the new nursery administration building, we installed about 60 of them of 3-gallon size. that was roughly a year ago. they have doubled in size since [irrigation + fertilizer]. but the difference in silver-ness among them is striking. and, it seems to this old untrained eye, the more silver, the more growth. another year, and i think there will be some standouts among them.
most palms/palmettos are beginning to bloom now. six months from now might be a good time to pilgrimage to melbourne on a seed collecting expedition.

PHEW! That makes me feel lots better. Thanks for the info. Mine a really small so I'm sure it will be a long time before they look really good. I do plan to keep them irrigated as that seems to speed along palm growth around here.
