Re: the day

Sounds like a northern rite of spring to me, Donna. Tomorrow, we're going to the University of South Florida's Spring Plant Sale, which is a southern rite of spring.

I took the day off from everything I should have been doing and went
shopping!

Hit a DIY store and picked up a few cutesy things for the
garden...animated butterfly and yes a flamingo too...along with boring
stuff I needed.

From there I went to the garden center.....sure did smell good! Since my
schedule is not going to allow a Saturday to do this again till memorial
weekend... came home with a SUV filled with plants.. (not all mine, two
friends bummed with me). I was unimpressed with the selections of plants
even this early.

So what do all of you do with early purchases?

Tomorrow planning on planting up some containers that will be moved in
and out of the garage till the weather here stabilizes. Debating about
what to do with the perennials purchased. Need to harden them off a tad
since they were in a greenhouse environment. Not sure if I want to
attempt to keep them alive in pots and sunny windows/outdoors nice days
or just plant them and hope for the best. Seen my first dandelion
blooming today, so thinking the ground is completely thawed and probably
won't freeze again.

And for those wondering... DH family is celebrating half way around the
country and my small family dinner is not a big deal, so plenty of free
time tomorrow.
