Actually, Beaufort is really more like a peninsula between several rivers.
Then Lady's Island, where I live is off of that so we are surrounded by
rivers too. The beach is actually about 20 miles from me. If a hurricane hit
here, we would be in bad shape if it hit Savannah, as we would get the north
side of the storm, which is always stronger. Regardless, we'd sustain a lot
of damage.
