That's one I've been looking for, but couldn't remember the title. Thanks Pat.
I found a great outline for lasagna gardening online & will hand that out, along with its URL. Picked up some books at the library to review & display and actually bought a book. "how to garden" by Johnathan Edwards was only $6 at Costco & seemed useful on a quick browse. A lot that I've learned from you folks is echoed in his book. It's been my bedtime reading the past couple nights & I think the sections on soil preparation, planning and vegetable gardening will be useful. A friend has agreed to talk for 10 minutes on her sucessful & controlled thornless blackberry planting and I hope to have another guest to give an overview on another topic. I'm hoping folks will have a lot of questions. I'm allowing 30 minutes for that. Tomorrow I'm visiting the extension office to get some bulletins for display & handouts.
Thanks Chris & Auralie. Kitty, I will probably find something from you on soil prep or general propagation that will be helpful.

Judy,
I just gave a talk at our library on composting and got such great information out of Ruth Stout's book No Work Gardening. I love the way she mulches... I have used it for years and have the best soil.

Judy, I have in my files a brief outline made by the MG who gave
a lecture on Vegetables at a Horticulture School I ran a couple
of years ago. It's brief, but might help you to organize your
thoughts. Her program wass very good - I've had her speak
to my schools several times. If it would be helpful, I will send
it to you.

Dear friends,
I've been asked to present a vegetable gardening talk next week. I haven't
had a vegetable garden for 15 years! Gardenchat's archives hold a wealth of
info. I plan to mine them for your expertise & assemble it in a handout. I
will attribute comments to ' "Kitty" in gardenchat archives, ' for example.
If anyone prefers I not use their info, or wants a more complete
attribution, let me know ASAP.
Chris, may I use the gardenchat & hortnet URLs on my handout?
