Your Magnolia experience is why I don't even plant them any more. A couple of lovely days and then dirty Kleenex. :-(
Our daffs went to the ground if they were open, or large in bud, and didn't come back up, but they were still good for cut flowers. Those that hadn't popped very far were fine.

Pam, here it was 7 last night, sunny today but cold. Yesterday we had

showers and tonight is going to be the coldest. My yellow Magnolia had

fat buds that are mush today. My Royal Star Magnolia was in full bloom
but is
brown today. The daffodils are laying on the ground limp. Our trees
are
going to get zapped again as if the ice storms didn't do enough damage.
