I free feed my cats and always have. So, 2 cats need the special diet due to IBS, so that means the 3rd cat gets it too. It is expensive- $28 for 6 lbs bag. But there is no other way, so what can I do. At least I hope the green pea part (carbs) didn't come from China!!

Thank you Daryl. It is difficult to knowif we've seen all the updates so every time I see one from you I feel more confident that I'm as aware as I can possibly be. I haven't changed my regular cat food mix and none of the 3 boys have gotten ill so I feel pretty much ok sticking with it.Slugger, on the other hand, has been switched to eating pure gold. At $20 for a 4 pound bag, I can't afford to feed it to all 4 cats. The vet thinks he has a food allergy and says he has to eat this and nothing else for 2 months so we can figure out what the problem is. This is very difficult as he liked it at first but now is rejecting it and trying to get the other food. Meanwhile, Jack always wants what he's not allowed to have and if he gets hold of the $ food, he gobbles it fast and throws it up. I have to keep an eagle on on them at feeding times. So, how often do you feed cats? Once a day? Twice? I've always just left food out for them.Kitty neIN, Zone 5 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daryl" <pulis@mindspring.com> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Friday, April 20, 2007 1:43 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] Fw: Blue Buffalo Company - Kitten Dry FoodI'm cooking what I can for Buddy (mostly rice and chicken, and noodles and beef) , and Dreyfuss is getting some old Pro-plan mixed with meat juice and rice. Dreyfuss had quit eating it several months ago (wanting the pouch stuff that I was feeding Buddy), so I'm hoping its safe. I'm also hoping that the Friskies Dry cat food remains ok. The dogs and the cat both eat a lot of the cat food.I'm kind of afraid to make cat food, since they need practically perfect nutrition. Sometimes I wish I'd let him remain an outdoor kitty. I'm sure he'd be nice and full of mice and birds and not need much supplementation. But then, I'd be mad at him for eating "my" birds, or he'd have been eaten by a hawk. :-( Between a rock and a hard place.I wonder how many more pets were poisoned because people like me stopped buying wheat gluten products and the rice contamination wasn't known? And how many bought "small" brands like the Blue Buffalo stuff or the Venison products. Who'd think that anything that sounded that healthy could be that bad?d ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna" <gossiper@sbcglobal.net> To: <gardenchat@hort.net> Sent: Friday, April 20, 2007 1:16 PM Subject: Re: [CHAT] Fw: Blue Buffalo Company - Kitten Dry FoodThank you for all the updates... although I wish there werent any to give. Not sure just what to feed my animals anymore...
