Jesse, I have planted lots of tulips & daffodils that were used plants from 
the botanical center.   They left the foliage on and I planted them with the 
foliage in tack.   I found that they would bloom the 2nd season after I planted 
them.   I don't do tulips any longer because of the rabbits & deer.
