what do carpenter ants look like??

Pam - You can't miss them. They are big & black. A few years ago I was
fortunate to eradicate a HUGE nest they started in a small pile of twigs I
had set aside & covered it with a piece of plastic. I finally decided to
move it & when I disturbed under the top layer, there a gazillion eggs. Man,
did they ever go nuts. Buzzing like, as someone said, it sounded like
cellophane being crinkled. I forget what I had in my shed & I ran & made a
spray mix & not a one got away. That nest would have been a good film close
up shot for a sci-fi movie. I WAS LUCKY. Now I'm on the hunt regularly for
them.
