Not personal experience, but...
Powell says to sow seeds 1/4 inch deep 2-3 weeks b4 last frost in the
spring. Germ is erratic and takes from 21 to 365 days. Chip seed and soak
in warm water for 48 hrs. After sowing, provide 70-75 F. Plant seedlings
outside several weeks after last frost when soil is warm and temps stay
above 50.
