RE: OT gas prices


Oh, I don't know. This Californian heard about the mileage tax too but I
also heard the outraged screams of millions of other Californians when it
showed up in the papers. I don't think I'd say California is a huge
proponent. There is a faction, but they're not likely to get anywhere. Too
many commuters. I doubt even Ah-nold could swing it. 
I paid $2.72.9 yesterday, filling up my 1966 Mustang. Can't drive it lot now
at those prices.

Of course, the scooter phase will only last until California and other 
states interested start taxing people on a per mile basis instead of
using gasoline taxes.

California has been a huge proponent of this and people with hybrid 
cars are very unhappy.


I read a recent report that said we shouldn't be suprised to see gasoline 
prices of $6/gallon in the near future.
