Jim Fisher, you are so knowledgeable. I am constantly impressed with the level of scholarship on this list.

james singer wrote:Thanks, Jim. Could be from Selby--don't remember where I got it, but Selby would be an even-money bet. I tied it in a young ligustrum tree 3 or 4 years ago, and it has adapted very well; this is the second or third time it has bloomed in that location.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ That's a good photograph; it occurs to me that you could send it on to Milton Carpenter, a former president of the Am. Orchid Soc. He bred and sold this kind of thing for 40 years from his nursery in Belle Glade. It might be one of his, and he might be able to put a grex name to it. His mail address is milton@evergladesorchids.com . If you do, send him my regards, we used to know one another well. -jrf +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++On Aug 11, 2006, at 12:20 PM, James R. If it has only those two genera, it would be a Miltassia. Did it come from Selby ? -jrf -- Jim Fisher Vienna, Virginia USA 38.9 N 77.2 W USDA Zone 7 Max. 100 F [38 C], Min. 10 F [-12 C] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHATIsland Jim Southwest Florida 27.0 N, 82.4 W Hardiness Zone 10 Heat Zone 10 Minimum 30 F [-1 C] Maximum 100 F [38 C]-- Jim Fisher Vienna, Virginia USA 38.9 N 77.2 W USDA Zone 7 Max. 100 F [38 C], Min. 10 F [-12 C] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
