We have a Pinus strobus 'Contorta' in our Conifer Garden at CES display gardens. Very nice. We also have Bhutan Pine, Pinus wallichiana 'Zebrina' and a Dragon-Eye Pine, Pinus densiflora 'Oculus-draconis', that I think you'd dig.

Haven't seen this one, Donna. I am looking at a weeping white pine to replace the birches we had removed. Trying to convince Ed it will work. Need something that will stay short, but block the "view" into the neighbor's yard. I am always attracted to white pines. Beautiful foliage, interesting bark, and contorted too. Must be a lovely thing. Send pictures when you get it planted.

Ok- who knows about Pinus stobus 'Contorta'? Once again the impulse buying got to me.... but I am proud of myself, if was the only thing I bought! I loved the 'look' of this and thought it would go well by my bear spitter near the pond. It is a small one, about 5 ft tall now but the crookedness (is that word?) and the way the needles are contorted, I was a sucker for it.--------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE GARDENCHAT
