I'm glad they had hospice to help. It is truly a stellar program. I spent 16 of my best work years as a hospice nurse. Encourage them to participate in the follow up bereavement programs. It really does help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Johnson Cyndi D Civ 95 CG/SCSRT" <cyndi.johnson@edwards.af.mil>

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. The last year has been very hard for my sister, she is not a natural caregiver and my brother-in-law was not exactly, ummm, well he had a heart of gold but you had to look for it. But she did her best and he did his best to fight the cancer and so it goes. My niece and nephew have been right there all along, my nephew (the tattoo artist you know, never judge a person by their tattoos) especially has been a total rock of support, he's amazing. The hospice people really helped keep my brother-in-law free of pain up to the very end. My sister is doing okay, she is heading into the mountains to ride for a few days she says, and we're not surprised in the least.
