I think it makes more sense to use OT for general chat.  This would make it
is easier to prioritize given the volume of email.  Also, I think it will
help us return back to gardening topics and not totally stray from the topic
that brought us all together in the first place.  I just don't want this
list to end up like some of the other garden-type lists that are all chat
and no garden.  Also, if we hope to attract new members they are likely to
find this new list and decide to join due to the "garden" aspect of the
list, not just merely chat.  A combination of both is likely to appeal to
the largest audience I think- and will help this list grow and remain
active, without be overwhelming.  Just my 2 cents.

i think we should use OT when we write about gardening.

i think this list will calm down in a bit. it's sort of like we're testing
it out right now. those who are also still on ahs will note that that list
very quite. went from chatty to moribund in a week.
