Pam, in the New York Times, Year in Review page this morning I found the 
following quote in a column  about language - words that have "gained wider 
currency" in the past year,  by alphabet: "Q is for  quirkyalone - a person who 
enjoys being single and who'd rather wait for the right person to come along than
