Sorry to hear your back is still giving you problems. 

Maybe you can get your family to stop by and fill the
humidifier? We have one that is on the furnance, so it
is a matter of flipping a switch in the early winter.
Most homes around here have one- might want to look
and see if yours does?

Watch that YEAH for the snow- Japan just got 6.5FT and
expecting more.... UCK!
