computer monitors

Previously, when a monitor went out... it just didn't work. Mine is
pulsating. Hit the power button and it goes green- yellow- green, yellow
and you hear it pulsate or click type thing.

   
  Hum.... anyone ever have this happen?
   
Ok, it is old and needs to be replaced, so guessing that is what I will
do- but thinking of dragging one up from basement to make sure that is
the problem first. (like I have time for this right now- NOT)
