Fwd: answer about ice chopping tool

Here's Dad's answer on the ice chopper.  It has a flat bottom, not curved
like the edging tools I've seen.  Figures he still has the one I remember
using as a kid.

 I always referred to it as a "ICE SCRAPER"  That's what its used for.  I
would imagine Lowe's or Home Depot ot True Value Hardware Stores would carry
them.  You can also use them for edgeing around sidewalks.  I still have the
one we had at Lockhart St. and use it occasionly when cutting a fine edge

One of the gals on my gardenchat list is trying to figure out how to get
thick ice off her sidewalks & driveway.  (she's in IL they usually get snow
not ice).  I remember some tool you had like a long handled hoe but the neck
was straight and not bent and it made a dandy ice chopper.  But I can't
remember what it was called.  Do you remember?   The woman in Atlanta wants
to know too, they get a lot of ice there apparently.
