Re: check in time

Lovely here today. Sunny and 50. I ripped up my kitchen floor and got it out to the curb for the "neighborhood cleanup" day tomorrow. I also dug out the stupid bottlebrush that was too close to the house. I had to cut some of the roots as I could get them dug up. Hoping I've successfully killed it and i doesn't resprout. Also took out the rest of the branches from the bradford pear that I pruned a month or so ago. Phew! Feels good to get all that done and out of my yard/house- but I am going to be sore tomorrow!

Something is eating my peas as they are coming up. If I had rabbits, I'd assume that was the culprit, but no bunnies. Maybe I have a disgusting rat around again?? Also, some bug is devouring the leaves on my brocolli. Don't know what it is. Thought slugs, so put bait down- didn't help though. Hmmm, Any ideas?

weather here is the pits, but I am sure it is for most of the country within

I have today off (yeah!).... The roads are a nightmare, we have an inch or so
of solid ice here with a dusting of snow, and now it appears we are getting
more ice balls with thunder. Strange weather! even my screen panels on the
deck have an inch of ice stuck to them... and I am kinda worried about a
couple of ice coated trees. (my bald cypress still had some foliage so it is
really coated and drooping)
IDOT is begging folks to stay home... works for me! http://cbs2chicago.com/local/snowstorm.one.foot.2.890158.html I hope all are safe. Donna
