Re: chipmunks was: birds and other critters
Marge you crack me up. Chatting with you is like having Audubon (sp) as
a friend. Anyway pretty interesting stuff about chippies...no not the
cops Nora. (Our state troopers are known as California Highway Patrol or
Chips for short. Hence the TV program) My only problem with the url you
sent was that the opening few sentences made the little buggers sound
down right nice and friendly. And I quote
"An encounter with a chipmunk often provides a child with a captivating
first experience of a wild mammal in it's natural setting."
Yes, that's probably true. However, it also could have your kid wind up
with a very nasty series of rabies shots or worse yet have the poor
little blighter sitting at the table foaming at the mouth while you're
trying to get him to eat his spinach. Wild animals are just
that...wild. They should not be approached nor should you have your
toddler pet the cute chipmunk for goodness sakes.
Reminds me of those people you see getting real close to the bison in
Yellowstone trying to take the close-up of a real live buffalo. Some
people are SO stupid! I love it. Makin the Darwin awards.
