I can always tell when the birds- (heron and egrets here)- have been
around. Have to really yell for the fish to come. I have since stopped
hand feeding them and now throw the food to the center of the pond. My
pond was designed for the birds- or should I say lack of.... deep sides
so they don't go in, just attack my fish from the edge. I also have all
neighborhood kids on heron alert... if you see one by my pond, throw
something at it :) the three birds that visit here are not easily
spooked, takes me yelling 2 ft away from them before they even think
about leaving :( They give me this look, like what is your problem
lady....
