RE: Question re: Astilbe

Some suggestions:
move the pots to a cold garage.  Still gets the cold treatment required,
but is out of the wind which drops temps further.  
wrap container in bubble wrap.
crowd containers together against house and wrap outer edge with insulation
bury containers in leaves, mulch for insulation.
