Well, I, too, must be a nutcase because I do the same thing. And I collect the rainwater for my houseplants too.

Found when I move them out in the open during a rain storm, they do much better. So yeah, I am the nut case that runs out when it starts to rain and moves all my potted plants off the porch.....:) Oh, I also collect the rainwater, but there just seems to never be enough....
