Re: word from Iraq


I really should stay out of this, but I have to say that my son served four 
years in the navy in the late 70s.  A couple of years after he got out, he had 
a terrible accident on his bicycle.  Although bleeding badly and  half 
conscious, he asked to be taken to the military hospital in Albany, in preference to 
the private one.  The treatement he received was excellent.  He required 
extensive reconstructive surgery on his face, and they brought in specialists and 
continued the treatments until he decided, on his own, over a year later, that 
he could live with what he had.  They would have done more.  He was only a 
seaman.  His son is now in the navy.
